Max was honored at school for an award the other day (a post on those details next!). Anyway, that night he came home and said, "I have so many friends I didn't even know I had!" I asked him to explain and he said, "there were about 10 kids on the playground that said 'hey you're the kid from our assembly today!'" Then that night we were at Scouts eating dinner. One kid looked at Max and said, "Hey, good job on your award today." (It was an older student, even.) Max said, "Thank you." Then he turned, looked at me and whispered, "See??!!" His grin along with it was adorable! His confidence was soaring that day!
Jason made a wish at a mall wishing well over Labor Day weekend. Right after he threw his penny in, he said, "I can't wait to be a superhero." I just smiled.
About 2 nights later we were on our bellies reading books before bed. All of a sudden J popped up and started jumping up and down. Then he quickly got back on his belly. I asked what that was all about and he said, "Just checking to see if I can fly yet." He has continued doing this jumping up and down at random times. I finally asked him why he keeps checking to see if he can fly. His response was simple, "When I can fly that means my wish came true and I'm finally a superhero."
Another one for J. Jason was washing hands before dinner and yelled to me, "I know who I'm marrying." I asked, "Who?" He replied, "You!" This happens ALL the time! Cracks me up every single time.
The other morning Kevin told J to go make his bed. J replied, "I don't have to since I'm a football player." Kevin asked why football players don't have to make their beds. J said, "because football players have butlers to do that."
Another one from J... Luke and I were talking about getting tickets for the Super Bowl and how hard that is to get. J said, "that wouldn't be hard if we had a ticket oak!"
Jason threw up the other night, the night before one of his football games. Almost as soon as he finished, he said, "I should've saved the throw-up for tomorrow when I will be on defense. Then I would've scared the other team away." Silly boy. He was devastated to hear that throwing up the night before a game means, no game for him the next day. I did appreciate his heart to play defense in anyway, though!
